A Feminist View of Mocked by Faith When I first started reading Mocked by Faith, I have to admit I struggled with the male-dominant side to the society in which Justin and Alexia live. I bit back the urge to scream at Alexia to stand up for herself and not let them control her, but then I took a step back and reevaluated everything I knew about The Gates and the standards they live by. Simply put, it’s the way they thrive.

Justin doesn’t inflict his rules over Alexia in an effort to hold her back, or even to stop her from growing as a woman, but because he knows that with his guidance that she will flourish into becoming a strong, beautiful woman. In the same aspect, with Alexia’s unwavering love and commitment to him, he can become the man he was always meant to be. In a world that society would tell us is wrong, Justin and Alexia find their happily ever after.

They face more struggles than they should have to. Secrets and lies, heartaches and broken dreams, they discover just how much they need each other. In the process, find a love that is stronger than the difficulties that are trying to tear them apart. It’s often hard to trust in the things that we don’t understand. The urge to buck against the system is easy to give into, but faith is a funny thing. It’s about believing in what we don’t comprehend, taking the chance that with hope that in the end, we’ll reap the rewards. With the Mocked by Faith series, the chance is well worth the risks. Justin and Alexia have a love that will last a lifetime and I, for one, can’t wait to see how the end unfolds.

  2. I am not sure I can honestly answer the question about who my favorite character is as I've not yet read this book; but it is now on my TBR list.

Thank you for the blog post and the giveaway!
